FAQ for charter flights from aircharterpanama.com

q. What regulations do you fly under?

a. Panama’s aviation authority uses FAA rules and regulations as their guide. They do have additional rules including a few the FAA does not require. All the aircraft we represent are operated under the US equivalent of FAR Part 135 standards -- assuring our clients of top safety and maintenance protocols.

q. Who are you?

a. We represent the finest charter company in Panama with over 25 years of VIP charter and aircraft operational experience.

q. How much does a private charter flight cost?

a. It depends on the size and type of aircraft. Charter flights start at $525 per hour for a twin-engined Piper Seneca airplane with a minimum of one hour. Due to their higher costs, helicopters are more expensive. In some cases, charter flights may be only cost a little more than airlines. Some other additional fees can include any of the following: Wait Time, Overnight, Landing, Short Leg, International, Catering, Cabin Service Representative, and Crew expenses.

q. How do we pay for our flight?

a. Credit card is fine. Visa and Mastercard. Wire Transfers too.

q. We are coming in via private aircraft, can you help?

a. Surely. SkyMaxx is part of the Mapiex group and is the country's only FBO. Their superb service is well known within the flying community. Heck, ask Jimmy Buffet, Chayanne, Shakira or that new Bond guy. Good referrals all.

q. Can you fly in all types of weather?

a. While no aircraft can fly in all types of weather, SkyMaxx aircraft have equipment to avoid thunderstorms. Even with this equipment, there are times when flights must be diverted or delayed for weather. Your flight crew will inform you of any delays and options for dealing with them. Remember, your safety is always our first concern.

q. What about security?

a. Charter air travel is the pinnacle of security since you are traveling with your colleagues. You know whom you are traveling with, which is much more effective security plan than metal detectors, removing your shoes, throwing away your shampoo and toothpaste, and other airline security requirements. This is not to say, however, that security is not important in charter operations. In fact, we do check credentials and identification as appropriate.

q. When should I arrive for departure?

a. One of the primary benefits of charter is that you set the schedule. You set the departure time and arrive at your convenience. The aircraft will be normally ready for departure no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time and will depart when your group is ready to go.

q. Can I bring food along?

a. Sure thing. Please note that if you are arriving from outside of Panama, food items are usually confiscated by the customs people. If you must bring food into Panama for medical reasons, then by all means bring note from your doctor and have it translated into Spanish. Notorized by a local Panamanian Consulate would be even better!
